Streak-free glass and mirrors: the technique that actually works

Streaks are more often the fault of the method than the cleaner. Get four things right and glass comes up invisible every time.

Two cloths, not one

Clean with a damp microfiber, then buff with a second dry one. A single cloth just pushes the dissolved dirt around and leaves a film.

Spray the cloth for detail work

For mirrors and framed glass, spray the cloth so liquid doesn't run into edges and seals. For big windows, spray the glass directly.

Work out of direct sun

Warm glass flash-dries the cleaner before you can wipe it, baking streaks in. Do it in shade or on a cool surface.

The antistatic bonus

Because Magic Cleaner leaves an antistatic finish, dust settles back more slowly — so clean glass stays clean longer.

Finishing touch

Fold the cloth in quarters and flip to a fresh side as it loads up. Use straight-line strokes on the final buff, not circles.
