How to clean your glasses without scratching them

Wiping your glasses on your shirt feels harmless. Over months it grinds fine scratches into the coating. There's a better 30-second routine.

Why dry-wiping ruins lenses

Dust is mostly mineral — harder than the plastic and the coating. Rubbing it dry drags those particles across the lens like sandpaper.

The right routine

Spray Magic Cleaner on both sides, let it lift the grease for a second, then wipe with a clean microfiber. It's alcohol-free, so it won't attack anti-reflective or blue-light coatings.

Antistatic means less dust

An antistatic finish stops lenses pulling dust straight back — they stay clear noticeably longer.

What about fogging

If your glasses fog up with masks or cold air, the MC Antifog set keeps them clear — more on that in another post.

Keep it handy

Keep a small bottle and a cloth in your bag. Never use tissue, paper or a shirt hem again.
